11 more days!

We have a scheduled day for this baby to come. He will be born on August 1, early in the morning. We have to be at the hospital at 5:45 a.m. My response to that time? Wahoo! The earlier we do it, the sooner I get to not be pregnant anymore!

Potty seat again

This may not speak well for the intelligence of my child, but Parker got the potty seat stuck on his head again. It wasn't as funny to me this time, but at least I thought to take a picture (although it had to be edited slightly :) )

Baby, Baby, Baby

Most people who access this blog probably already know that I am expecting my 3rd baby. He is due on the 16th of August, but I will have a scheduled c-section on the 4th or 5th or so. I think it will be scheduled this Friday when I meet my new doctor for the first time (long story). If anyone out there is one of those people who feel like real women give birth vaginally, here is a link for a close look at what happens in a C-section. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/c-section/MM00531 It's a rather graphic video about what a c-section is like and it just changed my mind about asking for a mirror so that I can watch this baby be born. Eeeek! I've had 2 previous c-sections and this video kind of creeped me out about it.
Anyway, I have been having contractions for several days now. I went to the hospital yesterday to be checked and I am not dilating or anything, and the contractions are not regulating, but we are keeping a close eye on things. So far, so good.

Potty Training Victory!

So Hayden potty trained Parker last week. Peer pressure can be a fabulous thing! We told Parker that he could have Veggietales Jonah if he went poop in the potty. A few hours later, he pooped in his diaper. Hayden was really upset about it and and said "Parker, you are supposed to go poop in the potty! I wanted to watch Jonah! Why did you poop in your diaper?" Parker then ran upstairs and promptly squished out another poop in the potty. When they came back downstairs, Hayden had put Parker in underwear (which Parker has absolutely refused to wear until now). Parker has done very well since then. He's had a few accidents, but really gets it and is so excited to be a big boy. It's pretty awesome.
The funniest moment was when I was sitting downstairs and I heard Parker yelling "Mommy, I need your help!" I yell back "What's going on?" He says "I need help!" I head up the stairs and here he comes with the little toilet seat that he puts on top of the big one stuck around his neck. It really was pretty tricky to get off. My niece, Aspen, was here and she and I laughed and laughed trying to get it off while Parker alternately laughed and cried while we were trying to get it off without pulling his ears off too. I wish I had thought to take a picture, but missed my chance, darn-it. :)
