Preston is half of a year old!

Wow, 6 months already. I know it's a total cliche, but it really is amazing how fast kids, and especially babies, grow up. Every person who comes in contact with Preston comments on what a happy baby he is, and they are right. He gets a bit indignant if he has to wait for food, but is easily distracted by a willing playmate to talk to him or make silly faces. He is incredibly social....and incredibly drooly. No first tooth yet, but it's got to be soon. Everyone who holds him gets wet.

Here is a video of him bouncing. He had been bouncing for a little while when I took this so he was getting kind of tired of it. There are parts that I'm not sure he even knew whether he was laughing or complaining.

Beautiful Parker

Here is an excerpt of how my Sunday morning went yesterday while John was off at his meetings.

Me: Parker, put your pants on, it's time for church.
Parker: But then I won't be beautiful!
Me: Yes, you will!
P: No, pants make me handsome and I'm not handsome, I'm Beautiful!
Me: But these are your prophet pants.
(note: he usually loves wearing his black suit because he says he looks like a prophet.)
P: But prophets are handsome and I want to be beautiful!
Me: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
(and John wonders why we are so often late for church...)

Next week I'll try to remember to take a pic of him in his suit. It.....is.....adorable.

Parker's Version of I'm a Child of God

I am a child of God
and he has send me here
has given me an early home
with parents kind of dear....

Tonight, we sang I am a Child of God at FHE. We were being kind of silly and sang it really fast (the boys REALLY wanted to get to treats). When it ended Parker added a "Cha, cha, cha." It reminded me of when Hayden was little and sang his "shake your booty version of it." John and I totally cracked up.

Parker has an incredible imagination. A few days ago, we were playing "Chili." This is where he makes a big pretend bowl of chili in his kitchen and then tries to sell it to us. He came over to me with his pretend bowl of chili and said it cost $5. I counted out five pretend dollars to him while he waited patiently, but then with a totally disgusted look on his face (I guess I really should have known better) informed me that I had put the money in the bowl of chili and now it was ruined.

Update: here are a couple of pictures of Parker in his "prophet clothes."
