Cute Preston Pics

Here are a few of the cute pics I took last night of Preston. He is getting so big so fast. He's very strong, too. He has already rolled over a few times (The first was at 5 weeks). He will be 8 weeks this Friday.

This is the Dr. Bourkovski. She delivered Preston.

Catching up

Here we go, the last month in one post. Please keep arms and legs inside the ride at all times and make sure your seatbelts are in the locked position.

This is a water fight at a ward party the end of July. Yes, those are water droplets. John threw a water balloon and it burst in his hand. Hayden hadn't quite had time to react when I took this picture.

Lemonade Stand

Hayden worked very hard squeezing lemons and making his sign for a lemonade stand on Labor Day weekend. It was the Pocatello Marathon, so a couple of thousand people walked past the house on their way to the finish line down in the park.

Eastern Idaho State Fair

The boys had a fantastic time at the fair. They kissed a bear and ate all sorts of goodies (tiger ear, cotton candy, ice cream...) All the makings of a great day.

Just Peachy! We froze several bushels of corn on Saturday, and canned peaches. We have a tiny peach tree that has never really produced before, but this year it did well. The peaches were small, but easy to peel and very sweet. Here's Hayden with all of the peaches from that tree. We didn't think there were more than 4-5 quarts on the tree until we picked. We ended up with 14 quarts, a large batch of freezer jam, and a bowlful left to eat fresh. Delicious!

A lazy update

I haven't the faintest clue why I am still awake right now, but I am. Oh well. I have just stumbled onto this awesome blog. Especially for those out there who, like me, dabble in cake decorating, you'll get a kick out of this. http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/ (sentence structure not my strong suit at this time of night. :)
Also, a great sight for kids http://www.starfall.com/

I have some pics to post, but too lazy to get them off the camera right now. In the meantime, here is a poem that was given to me by a single girl in my ward. She is such a sweetheart and knew exactly what I needed. Here it is.

Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth
emtpy the dustpan, poison the moth,
hang out the washing and butter the bread,
sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
(lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting a bills are past due
(pat-a-cake, darling and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew,
and out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
but I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wornderful hue?
(lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomottow,
for children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust, go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

That's it for me tonight. If anyone who reads this has made leaves with gum paste, hints are appreciated.
How's that for random?
